Cline

Use the built-in OpenAI Compatible provider.

Before you connect

  • Install and launch the tool.
  • Create an API key and save the plaintext value shown once.
  • Choose a model ID whose protocol and capability match the tool.

Minimal configuration

Open Cline provider settings, choose OpenAI Compatible, and enter the Base URL, API key, and model ID.

Model ID: YOUR_MODEL_ID
  • Keep credentials in VS Code/Cline user settings, not project files.

Verify the connection

  1. Save the provider and create a blank task.
  2. Send a minimal prompt and confirm a text response.

Limitations and common issues

  • Set Base URL through /v1; do not append /chat/completions.
  • The model ID must exactly match the marketplace value.
